GETTING HERE

InanItah Water Season on Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua.

Our advice is to take a 4X4 Taxi that can drive you all the way up.

TAXI INFO ON MAINLAND

Make a reservation with Martin on WhatsAPP (+505 8664 0085) for a taxi from the Managua Airport or elsewhere in Nicaragua to the ferry port (San Jorge).

COST: Airport to Ferry-$60.

TAXI INFO ON OMETEPE ISLAND

You can make a reservation by contacting Norvin on WhatsApp (+505 8831 6309) and the driver will wait where you get of the ferry with a symbol of InanItah.

COST: About $30 for up to three people. 4 or more people- $10 per person.

ALTERNATIVES:

The road up to InanItah starts at the white rock in the shape of a chair 2.3km past santa cruz in direction to merida, from the white rock it is a 25 min walk.

There are buses on Ometepe which can drop you off at Santa Cruz (bus to Balgue) or at the white rock (bus to Merida).

​You can also come with your own transportation like a car or motor bike.

*Please note that the roads on Ometepe are not in the best condition and the road up to InanItah is tough. If you come by own transportation park your vehicle at the parking.

FERRY INFORMATION

Ferries leave from San Jorge Port almost every hour starting from 7:00 - 18:30.

If you miss the last ferry there are several hotels right by the port (Las Hamacas, Southern Nights, Dalinky)

There are currently no ferries from Granada

No reservation needed if traveling by foot or moto.

Reservation needed if traveling with Car. Please Contact us on WhatsApp (+50589095653) if you plan to arrive with a car so we can help make your journey as easy as possible!)

BORDER CROSSING:

Currently no special requirements to cross the border into Nicaragua (no need to fill out any forms beforehand)

*although some airlines ask for proof of onward travel (a ticket that shows you are leaving nicaragua)
